Meet Kimberly Koch, a life-long Whitpain Township resident who dedicates herself to community and service. In her role as Vice Chair (Chair in 2022) of the Whitpain Township Board of Supervisors, Kimberly has championed one of the most progressive agendas in Montgomery County.

Accomplishment

  • In 2022, Kimberly spearheaded a Reproductive Health Ordinance, the first of its kind in Montgomery County.
  • Implemented a Responsible Contractors Ordinance (RCO) to protect tax money, ensuring jobs are done well, on time, and on budget.
  • Worked to purchase and preserve open space, such as the 63.5 acres of Mermaid Lake, preventing overdevelopment.
  • As an environmental steward, Kimberly oversaw the formation of an Environmental Advisory Commission (EAC) and the passing of a “Ready for 100” Resolution to commit the township to become carbon neutral.
  • Started Whitpain’s Human Relations Commission to protect the rights of all residents.
  • Instrumental in recording and broadcasting (with closed captioning) all township meetings.
  • Maintained Whitpain Township’s AAA bond rating.
  • Created the township’s award-winning PAFR (Popular Annual Financial Report), making the annual township audit more accessible.

Kimberly is committed to seeking feedback from our residents and exploring creative ways that we can accomplish our goals.

Exciting Projects

  • Wissahickon Park: Enhancing the Borit site in West Ambler with inclusive, state-of-the-art recreation space.
  • Whitpain Township Community Center: Secured a $10 million gift for this center, with groundbreaking expected by the end of 2025.
  • Kimberly is working closely with staff, designers, and contractors to ensure these projects’ success.

Art and Culture

Kimberly spearheaded the creation of Whitpain’s Art and Culture Commission in 2024 and now serves as the Supervisor Liaison to this group. Expect more visual and performing arts in Whitpain Township soon!

  • Trustee to the Montgomery County Community College (2021-2023)
  • Chair of Whitpain Township’s Board of Auditors (elected 2017; served 2018-2019)
  • 21-year Public School Teacher (12th-grade English Literature)
